                  J.K. MUSSER received his B.A. (theatre) from Alma College (Michigan), where he studied the Meisner technique as an approach to acting and stage directing (2001-2005). After graduating with honors, he moved to Detroit to study film production and direction at the Motion Picture Institute (2005-06). With his thesis film complete, J.K. returned to Alma College to accept a teaching assistantship (2006-07). While working at Alma, he assistant directed The Hot L Baltimore, directed The Runner Stumbles, directed The Threepenny Opera, and played "Dr. Chebutykin" in Three Sisters. From 2007-2009, J.K. worked as a freelance actor and director in Chicago, where he co-produced/directed Still Life With Donkey, wrote, recorded and performed rock music, and received a "Best Supporting Actor" award for his performance as "Adam" in Someone Who'll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuiness. From 2009-2011, J.K. lived in San Francisco, studying acting and directing at the Meisner Studio while directing professionally in the city. J.K. now resides in New York, a student in the M.F.A. directing program at Brooklyn College. He is an associate member of SDC and looks forward to directing a thesis in 2012.

                  RECENTLY DIRECTED: 

                  The Dishwashers by Morris Panych (2009), All My Sons by Arthur Miller (2010), The Lion In Winter by James Goldman (2010), Mamet's Computer by Howard Meehan (2010), NOOB 2 by J.K. Musser (short film 2011), Tape by Stephen Belber (2011), and Life Is For Living by Glenroy Clarke (staged reading - 2011).

                  DIRECTING IN 2012: 

                  J.K. is currently assistant directing A Bright Room Called Day by Tony Kushner, with SDC director Dave Dalton for the Whitman Stage at Brooklyn College; it opens Feb. 24th and closes March 4th. 

                  He is also currently directing a scene from Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, which will be adapted into a short film and shot live in the production studio at BMCC for a program to air on BC Presents in April.

                  In March, J.K. begins directing The Stonewater Rapture by Doug Wright. It opens Thursday, May 10. 

                  J.K. is currently in pre-production to direct and shoot a short film: Sick Day, which he also co-wrote. 

                  CINEMATOGRAPHY:

                  J.K. owns and operates 1 DSLR and 2 Super 8mm cameras.  The DSLR camera is the Canon t3i Rebel with four lenses: Canon EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens, Canon EF 24mm lens, Canon EF 50mm lens, and Canon EF 75-300mm zoom lens. The Super 8mm cameras are also Canons: Zoom 518 and Zoom 8-3.

                   "RTBP" was Adrian (the director's) thesis project at Brooklyn College; it opened on December the 8th.
